The Poodles

In case you haven’t noticed, I tend to mention Poodles alot. Most people tend to be a bit surprised when they find out a big, heavily tattooed guy with maniacal little kids would have pooches that have such a, um…dainty perception. Not our Poodles.

Maddie is a 10 year old white Standard Poodle that usually looks more grayish brown because she has a thing for finding dirt and then rolling around in it, like she’s on fire and trying to put herself out.

Duke is a Black Standard puppy and currently weighs about 45 pounds at 5 months old. His hobbies include going on long walks and eating the couch.

We also have two other dogs, Wolf, who contrary to his name is actually not a wolf…

…and Kennedy. Kennedy. What can I say about Kennedy…the picture says it all.

  1. OK…so, you just earned like major points with me for having STANDARD POODLES!! I love extra large black ones. (erhmm…that didn’t sound right, we are talking about POODLES). I have had three in my life, all between 85-95 pounds. They are the most loving and intelligent dogs ever! I’m in a stinking apartment right now, but as soon as I get the kiddos into elementary school, my next baby will be a standard puppy. (note: I know you may have not intended to be in this points race…but having Poodles puts you to the top of my RSS feed. :)

    • Those are huge! Our “baby” is now 8 months and weighs about 65 pounds. He’s like a ginormous lapdog. I actually had our older standard when I was in an apartment. The management was just like, “Poodle? Sure!” They had no idea she was a big girl.

      And I love points!!!

    • Yep. Might I also add: 2 birds, 2 fish, and a stray cat that won’t go away (I have a sneaking suspicion it won’t go away because we feed it).

We definitely try to “Go big” around here.

      Thanks for the comment!
